A scoping review is a small, lower-commitment first engagement. Before you commit to a larger project, we work out what the actual problem is and which approach fits it.
Most organisations arrive with a presenting problem — a strategy that is not holding, a program that is not landing, a funder asking harder questions — and the presenting problem is not always the real one. A scoping review separates the two. It is also the clearest way to find out whether TKD advisory is the right fit before either side commits.
Start with a scoping review. Choosing a service before the problem is defined is the most common and most expensive mistake in advisory work — it is the reason a well-executed piece of work can still answer the wrong question.
The scoping review names the problem first, then recommends which of the services fits, or whether none of them do.
It is a structured full-day workshop that teaches a team to question the assumptions built into how they have framed a problem, redefine that problem from the ground up, and develop solutions from what is actually true rather than from what has worked elsewhere.

Packages run from 10 to 40 hours with a validity period of three to six months, and you receive a monthly update on hours used and the remaining balance. There is no scoping or proposal stage: you start with a question, not a project.

Impact measurement can only be as good as the problem definition behind it, so this work usually begins by testing whether the problem the program addresses has been defined precisely enough to measure.

Workshops and facilitated sessions are run on site; advisory work runs either remotely or in person, depending on what the engagement needs.
Three starting points have a fixed price. The first conversation is free. A scoping review costs $6,000–12,000, and 50% of that is credited to a follow-on engagement that starts within three months. The First Principles Thinking workshop is $9,500 for a full day with up to ten people. All prices are in AUD, exclusive of GST.
Larger engagements — strategy, evaluation, governance — and Advisory Hours are scoped individually, because the right amount of work depends on the problem rather than on a standard package.
